Kayla Roman

Kayla Serafina Roman is a licensed speech-language pathologist at A. Harry Moore. She holds a master's degree from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and a New Jersey state license.
With six years of experience across early intervention, outpatient pediatric specialty centers and school-based settings, Ms. Roman has served individuals from birth to age 21. She uses an evidence-based, culturally responsive, total communication approach, with particular expertise in Gestalt Language Processing and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and she is committed to integrating AAC into every part of a student's life: at school, at home and in the community.
Ms. Roman believes every person has the right to communicate, and she works to expand access to communication, build confidence and support each individual's autonomy and full participation in their life. Outside of work she enjoys salsa dancing, reading, yoga, sewing and live music, and she is a devoted patron of the Jersey City Public Library.
