Emily Fenice
Adapted Physical Education Teacher
Emily Fenice has worked in education for 12 years and as a physical educator for 10. Before joining A. Harry Moore as the Adapted Physical Education Teacher, she taught at the Rebecca School, The Calhoun School and Jersey City Public Schools. Emily earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Saint Peter's University, where she also played and started for the Division I women's soccer team, and she went on to coach several teams before stepping back from coaching to spend more time with her family.
Emily has taught a wide range of ages in many settings, and she says AHM is where she belongs: it teaches her something new every day and challenges her in ways no other job has. Her classes are fun, exciting and always changing, and she looks forward to them as much as her students do.
For Emily, the gym is more than a place to get fit. It is a place to learn, grow and build social skills in a welcoming environment. At AHM, physical education is designed to strengthen the mind and personality as well as the body, to inspire and uplift, and to celebrate the shared sense of accomplishment when teacher and student reach a goal together.
