Anum Rojas-Kazmi
Technology Coordinator and Special Educator · M.A.T.
Mrs. Anum Rojas-Kazmi is a special educator, technology coordinator, researcher and disability advocate with more than nine years of experience in classrooms and educational programs, including over five years leading her own classroom. Before joining A. Harry Moore she taught students from elementary through high school in bilingual, sheltered, inclusion and special education settings across New Jersey. Her work spans assistive technology, inclusion, multilingual education, functional academics, curriculum development and educational technology.
Her commitment to disability inclusion began as a Bonner Community Scholar and member of the Abilities Team at The Arc Mercer, working alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Throughout her career she has worked to challenge ableism, promote disability acceptance and self-advocacy, and create spaces where the voices and lived experiences of disabled people and other historically marginalized communities are valued, including refugee, immigrant and multilingual communities.
Mrs. Rojas-Kazmi holds a B.S. in Special Education, a B.S. in Sociology and an M.A.T. in Special Education from The College of New Jersey, and she is pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership at Kean University. Her research on educational access and assistive technology for resettled refugees with disabilities, and earlier on inclusive education in Pakistan, has been presented through the Comparative and International Education Society and the New Jersey Educational Computing Cooperative.
At A. Harry Moore she combines technology, creativity, advocacy and accessibility to help students communicate, build independence and participate meaningfully in learning. Outside of education she enjoys photography, art and design, henna, event planning, languages, travel, and exploring different cultures and foods.
